HEIDEVOLK
Heidevolk is a folk metal band from the Netherlands. The lyrical themes of their music are inspired by nature, the history of Gelderland, and Germanic mythology. Most of their lyrics are in Dutch; however, since their album Velua, they also have one original English song, “Vinland”, and several English covers.
ILLUMISHADE
Fronted by vocalist Fabienne Erni and guitarist Jonas Wolf modern metal upstarts ILLUMISHADE released their debut album ECLYPTIC: Wake of Shadows in May 2020, receiving top acclaim by critics and fans alike. ROTTING CHRIST
Rotting Christ is a Greek black metal band formed in 1987. They are noted for being one of the first black metal bands within this region, as well as a premier act within the European underground metal scene. They are also responsible for creating the signature Greek black metal sound prevalent in the early 1990s.
SAKIS TOLIS
Athanasios “Sakis” Tolis is a Greek musician best known as the vocalist and rhythm guitarist of Rotting Christ. He is also known as Necromayhem. He has recently produced some of the band’s albums and contributed as session keyboardist.
SIRENIA
Sirenia is a Norwegian gothic metal band from Stavanger, founded in 2001 by Morten Veland. The band uses melodic instrumentals, synthesizers, and distorted guitars with female vocals, male death vocals, clean male vocals, a choir, and violins. The lyrics are concerned with human existence, emotion, and mental states.
SVARTSOT
Denmark’s original and leading folk metal band since 2005. SVARTSOT mixes tales from Denmark’s history and folklore with folk and medieval inspired melodies on folk instruments and lead guitar on the one side and crushing melodic death metal on the other side. The band’s 5th studio album is being released February 25th 2022 on the Danish label Mighty Music.
SKILTRON
Skiltron is a folk metal band formed in Buenos Aires in 2004 by Emilio Souto. Since 2018, the band has moved to Europe. Skiltron are considered one of the few Southern American metal bands to fuse heavy metal and Celtic music, a style usually more common in many parts of Europe
TROLLFEST
Trollfest are a Norwegian folk metal band. The band released their first full-length album, Willkommen Folk Tell Drekka Fest, on the Solistitium Records label on 15 March 2005. The album name translates roughly to “Welcome Folk to the Drinking Feast” in English
